Don't Think Your Company Needs to Change Software? General Environmental Services Didn't, Either. Here's What Happened When They Did.

THE CHALLENGE

General Environmental Services, in suburban Boston, battled inefficiencies in routing and scheduling in the software system of its 18-year provider.

HOW GES ADDRESSED IT

Operations manager Melanie Espinola wasn’t looking to switch when she visited PestWorld in 2022. But a FieldRoutes display illustrating scheduling caught her eye, and Espinola had to learn more. Just weeks later, GES went live with FieldRoutes.

THE BENEFIT

Intelligent Routing from FieldRoutes allows a company to bulk schedule customers and assign them by preferred technician, day, or region. More appointments in a day means more revenue. "We can figure out where it fits best rather than just guessing," Espinola says. "It was way more efficient."

WHY IT MATTERS

Espinola wants to ensure a legacy for the founding Wonson family (1979). "We like to grow every year and have more efficient technicians," Espinola says. " And just be happy, pay salaries, and keep it rolling."

THE RESULT

Key performance improvements at GES with FieldRoutes:

  • 15% increase in the number of customers with recurring services in 2023, compared with 2022

  • 5% revenue growth in 2023, compared with 2022

  • 4.8 Google rating with FieldRoutes software, up from 2.1 with the previous provider

‘Why did we wait so long? We should have done this years ago.’ – Melanie Espinola, operations manager, General Environmental Services, Malden, MA
