The costs imposed on Gecko Pest Control by its software partner mounted: Additional charges for routing. Additional charges for scheduling.
Two Gecko leaders convinced Gecko’s owner, Daren Horton, it was time to move on from their previous provider. “If you wanted to do anything, you had to pay – and you had to pay a lot for it," General Manager Candy McKay says. “It was very unreasonable.” In early 2023, Gecko shifted its operations to FieldRoutes.
Horton credits Gecko’s gross margin, 62%, to FieldRoutes’ routing capabilities. "We're getting into the gold level of industry standard,” Horton says. “A lot of that is because of the route optimization that works extremely well."
Improved efficiency has allowed Gecko to reduce the size of its technician and office staffs, and the company has surpassed seven figures in annual revenue.
